Well, we've just spent three days in this charming, understated, beautiful hotel. Yes, sure, the house is a little tired (wouldn't you be if you started your life in the 1700's), but from the moment you walk through the door you will be met with the most friendliest of staff who are really professional and make your stay really enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in a room which was spotless with the most comfortable of beds and to top it all had wonderful views out of three of the windows. Downstairs in the bar (which is very small, but there are plans to expand and improve) you will find a great selection of really good gins and whiskies. We plan to go back and try the gin making session! As a final note, if you expect luxury, plushness, all the fancy mod cons plus a stuffy cold atmosphere, this is not the hotel for you. Instead, if you want smiles, warmth and friendliness, then this is definitely the hotel for you. Highly recommended!
Our favourite place to eat and drink in Launceston. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. It also has the best views of any restaurant, bar or pub in town centre.The breakfast is very good, however you do have to be a guest or with a guest.
This hotel has so much potential but has become run down. We were put in a ti room in the basement with no view and a bathroom in serious need of update even though there seemed to be many other empty rooms available. Pot holes in car park need attention
